PEARL-DNA 5th General Assembly in Bordeaux

On 22–23 September 2025, the PEARL-DNA consortium held its fifth General Assembly meeting in Bordeaux, France. The gathering was kindly hosted by project partner Imagene, bringing together 19 participants from all six partner organisations.

A warm welcome in Bordeaux

The meeting opened with greetings from PEARL-DNA coordinator Tomaz Karcnik, followed by Sophie Tuffet, CEO of Imagene, who welcomed the consortium to Bordeaux. This set a collaborative tone for the two-day programme.

Day 1: Scientific updates and group discussion

The first day featured plenary presentations on the progress of Work Packages 2, 3, 6 and 7. Each partner shared research updates, highlighted achievements and addressed open questions. The session concluded with a group discussion, allowing partners to align on upcoming tasks. To round off the day, participants joined a cultural activity, offering the chance to explore Bordeaux and strengthen team bonds outside the meeting room.

Day 2: Imagene visit and bilateral talks

The second day began with presentations from Work Packages 4 and 5, followed by a visit to Imagene’s industrial platform, which allowed us to see the technology in practice. In the afternoon, partners held bilateral discussions to streamline activities and coordinate the project’s final year, a new format for the consortium. These face-to-face exchanges proved especially effective in clarifying priorities and planning the road ahead.

Looking ahead

The Bordeaux meeting was a productive milestone, enabling partners to review progress, address outstanding questions and prepare for the final year of the PEARL-DNA project.
