Visit from Member of the German Parliament Dr. Lübcke at Technical University of Applied Sciences Wildau

PEARL-DNA partner TH Wildau recently welcomed Dr. Andrea Lübcke, Member of the German Bundestag, to its research laboratories for an in-depth exchange on digitalisation, cybersecurity and advanced technologies. The visit, organised together with members of her parliamentary staff, provided an opportunity to showcase TH Wildau’s growing portfolio in biosystems technology, data-driven innovation and secure digital infrastructures.

The delegation was received by TH Wildau’s Vice President for Research and Transfer, who guided the group through several laboratories central to ongoing interdisciplinary research.

Exploring research strengths at TH Wildau

During the laboratory tour, besides another project, Marcus Frohme from TH Wildau, presented PEARL-DNA and their work in areas including:

  • Cybersecurity and digital infrastructures, with a focus on resilience and trustworthiness;

  • Biosystems and bioanalytics, supporting technological innovation across life sciences;

  • Advanced data management approaches, relevant for next-generation storage and processing.

Strengthening the dialogue between research and policy

The exchange with Dr. Lübcke and her team provided a valuable platform to discuss:

  • how applied research infrastructures support regional and national innovation capacity;

  • the importance of secure digital technologies in an era of expanding data volumes;

  • opportunities for closer alignment between public policy, academic research and European programmes.

These discussions reflect the growing political attention on data sovereignty, trusted digital ecosystems, and sustainable technological development, topics that are central to both TH Wildau’s research strategy and the PEARL-DNA mission.
