PEARL-DNA has been funded by the European Innovation Council (EIC), which underlines the strategic importance of next-generation data storage technologies. The funding enables the project to accelerate the development of a high-throughput, end-to-end DNA data storage platform, addressing key challenges in scalability, efficiency and cost.
With a consortium that consists of six partners from four European countries, PEARL-DNA brings together a unique combination of expertise, spanning research institutions specialising in life sciences and data technologies as well as innovative SMEs driving technological development and commercialisation. Such a collaborative structure allows the project to tackle complex challenges from multiple perspectives and foster innovation across disciplines.
This strong support from the EIC highlights Europe’s commitment to advancing deep-tech solutions that address global challenges, including the growing demand for sustainable and scalable data storage.
