DigNA: Advancing DNA-Based Data Storage through the 2022 EIC Pathfinder Challenge

Under the title DigNA (short for Digital DNA), PEARL-DNA and eight other projects funded under the 2022 EIC Pathfinder challenge: DNA-based digital data storage have begun engaging in collaborative activities.

During the first introductory meetings in late 2023, four working groups (WGs) were established to structure collaborative efforts among the challenge portfolio projects: Technical Synergies, Outreach and Public Engagement, Metrics as a Foundation for Standards and Roadmapping, and Protection and Exploitation. Since then, DigNA projects have led several online WG meetings to create a common action plan and organize their collaborative activities. The first in-person meeting will take place in Munich on June 24, 2024, where project partners will engage in co-creative workshops and present their research through posters.

PEARL-DNA Kicks Off Collaboration with DIDAX Presentation

Last week, on May 17, PEARL-DNA coordinator Tomaz was invited to deliver a presentation at the DIDAX bimonthly online update assembly. This was one of the initial collaborative activities within the DigNA projects, aimed at identifying areas of common interest and sharing expertise in the DNA storage field, with many more to follow.
